I believe that it is important to stop sometimes and look back on what has happened in the last month, week, or even day to truly see if you are satisfied with your life. I believe doing the overview of my progress in ISM this week in class was very helpful in allowing me to do this as I was able to really delve into the progress that I have made so far in ISM and how I want to shape the rest of the year and my Original Work. I realized from this that my research for my Original Work has derailed a bit and I was able to refocus on what I need to do, which is create a mental health system that can be used in India. I have been able to do research this weekend after this revelation and have already made good progress on how I can achieve my mental health system, noting the use of mobile technology as a huge factor in my system.
Besides this, I also had a mentor meeting this Wednesday and was able to learn even more from Dr. Uddin, but focused more on aspects of psychiatry outside of my Original Work. I asked my mentor questions about the electronic health system and how important it is for private practice because it makes documentation very simple and eco-friendly. I was also able to ask Dr. Uddin about some of the psychiatric organizations he is a part of, one of these being the American Psychiatric Association. I thought it was interesting to learn more about these organizations and how they allow psychiatrists to come together to share their experiences and learn more about new technologies or breakthroughs in the medical field. Altogether, I had a great week in ISM and cannot wait to make more progress next week during Spring Break!
