I had a very productive week in ISM, working on my original work and having a meeting with my mentor. Dr. Uddin and I were able to establish a bi-weekly meeting schedule so we would have consistent meetings. This solved the problem I was having of not getting many meetings with Dr. Uddin, who I had not met for around a month before we met on Wednesday, January 27th. In our meeting, I went over my progress on my original work and my mentor gave me feedback on what I had so far. I have been worried that my original work might have been moving away from the goal that I had in mind, but this worry was resolved this week as Dr. Uddin enjoyed the research I had so far, especially the organization of my research.
Along with this feedback, I was able to learn more about two different therapies that I had done research on, Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). Dr. Uddin also gave me an assignment to do over the 3 clusters of personality disorder, which I thoroughly enjoyed doing research on. I am more likely to be diagnosing patients with one of these 10 disorders rather than the other mental illnesses I have studied, which makes this information on the 3 clusters very beneficial to me. This week gave me a lot of confidence in the research I have done and has made me ecstatic about my mentorship and learning more from an experienced professional like Dr. Uddin!
